As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.
A new role awaitsThe Agency Budget and Financial Control Branch is currently seeking to fill an EL1 Assistant Director Finance Business Partner position.
The Finance Business Partnering Portfolio team is responsible for providing finance partnering services to the business as and when required.
This includes the provision of strategic financial advice to assist with decision making through forecasting and reporting and acting as a connection between the business and the broader Finance Branch.
This role requires relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance-related postgraduate qualifications).

Delivering end of month outputs for the assigned Groups, ensuring quality outcome and timeliness.

Leading implementation of financial decisions and budget processes.
Leading financial policy and procedure development and updates.
Initiating and implementing innovations and improvements of existing business practices to achieve efficiency.
Enough about us, let's talk about youOur ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the government financial environment and experience in developing reports & dashboards for presenting to Senior Management.
They should possess highly developed stakeholder engagement and project management skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A demonstrated ability to engage in complex problem solving and issues management is essential.
Prior experience leading teams and strong time management skills are also required.
Experience working with various systems such as SAS Enterprise Guide, SAP Financial systems, and Microsoft Suite will be advantageous.
You will need to hold CA/CPA qualifications and be able to provide these at the application stage.

While this role is ideally performed from VIC - Geelong or VIC - Richmond, remote working arrangements may be considered.
We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity; however, non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
