You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks that support the NDIA to be an accessible and inclusive employer, including but not limited to:Managing continuous improvement of key program deliverables including ongoing review and update of accessible communication policies, Agency standards, information, guidance and learning resources.Leading the development and delivery of inclusive accessibility training, face-to-face and online in-house workshops, improving the quality of communications products and uplifting the NDIA's accessible communications capability.Defining and testing current and emerging accessible communications solutions using various accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.Developing, implementing and evaluating internal organisational-wide communications and engagement campaigns focused on accessibility practices.EL1 Assistant Director Accessible Communications Delivery and PerformanceThe EL1 Assistant Director Accessible Communications Delivery and Performance is responsible for developing effective and efficient service delivery processes aligned with the National Disability 2021-2025 Strategy Standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2) and NDIA minimum standards of accessible communications. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks that support the NDIA to be an accessible and inclusive employer, including but not limited to:Leading the delivery of the Agency's internal translation capability, supporting the creation of accessible print, design, digital, tagging, Easy Read, plain English and other accessible communication products.Leading and managing procurement activities, supporting the external translation of the Agency's communications products into accessible formats.Managing continuous improvement of key deliverables including quality service delivery standards, contractual arrangements, measuring performance, prioritising and addressing requests for quality accessible communication support and services in an efficient and timely manner.Supporting the development and delivery of high quality and innovative accessible and inclusive communication materials that improve the quality of communications products within the NDIA.Enough about us, let's talk about you Our ideal candidate will bring a spark of innovation to our team. You will have experience supervising and mentoring a team, providing direction, delegating responsibilities, managing performance, and supporting personal development. Knowledge of assistive technologies, e.g. JAWS, NVDA or Dragon is desirable as well as extensive experience with Easy Read writing, editing and translation.
