The RoleThe Air Mobility Group Communications Systems Officer (AMG A6 COMSO) will be responsible for leading the delivery of AMG ICT and network planning and provisioning, cyber governance, risk, compliance, and cyber workforce health utilising a multidisciplinary team. In this capacity, the AMG A6 COMSO delivers to CDRAMG assurance of cyber resilience of Air Mobility enterprise capabilities inclusive of Operational Technologies and Information Technologies.COMSO will lead a team and will be accountable for the outcomes of the team's work and the appropriate use of resources to produce and achieve outcomes. As an ICT Security Specialist, COMSO is to perform and achieve very complex information security work. They are accountable to provide guidance and implement compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and policy requirements.They will provide detailed information security technical, professional, and policy advice, undertake complex work, and contribute to strategic planning. They may exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.About our TeamAMG operates six aircraft types in a range of roles covering air logistics support, airborne operations, and air-to-air refuelling. We also support a range of tasks including aero-medical evacuation missions, along with search and rescue. Flying squadrons within AMG are located at RAAF Bases Richmond, Amberley, and Defence Establishment Fairbairn.Headquarters Air Mobility Group at RAAF Base Richmond administers No. 84 Wing and No. 86 Wing, along with the Air Mobility Control Centre and Air Mobility Training and Development Unit. The AMG A6 team is a small section comprised of military and civilian personnel located in Richmond NSW. The team is additionally supported by a contracted staff footprint at other major AMG unit locations in QLD and ACT.You will be a part of a team that supports this enterprise by providing timely, accurate information and operational technology security governance and advice within an operational aviation environment.Our Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate would have experience across Aviation, Military, and ICT security risk management with a desire to enhance their professional and personal development through further education opportunities.Candidates should possess the following skills:
