The Role The EL 1 ADF Transition and Civil Recognition (ADFTCR) Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of a small ADFTCR Civil Recognition team. This position manages and quality assures the Recognition of Prior Learning process undertaken to support civil recognition for transitioning ADF members, in support of legislative compliance of the Defence Registered Training Organisation (DRTO).
The DRTO issues national qualifications, micro-credentials or units of competency as an outcome of the ADFTCR Civil Recognition process. This role oversees the engagement with transitioning ADF members and the reporting of data and trends to senior leadership. This role also manages the development of resources to support civil recognition of members and the maintenance of content on the Military Skills Recognition web site. The ADFTCR Manager provides advice in civil recognition of skills at ADF Transition Seminars and Unit Briefings, and engages with key stakeholders to build productive relationships.
About our Team The ADFTCR Manager will manage a small team of 1 x APS 6, 1 x APS 5 and 4 x APS 4 staff, who work collaboratively to undertake the support of ADF members, coordinate the Civil Recognition assessment process and contract, coordinate the Advanced Standing Partnerships with Universities and work to maintain DRTO compliance. The ADFTCR Civil recognition team is part of the National Skills Framework team, within the broader directorate of DELTA (Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority) at the Australian Defence College. Strong team collaboration and communication skills are desirable for this role as there is a need to provide advice and support to internal clients and senior leadership as required.

This position requires the candidate to have experience in working effectively with a range of key stakeholders and developing collaborative partnerships. They will also need to demonstrate skills in data analytics and process management and improvement, as well as experience working in complex environments. It is desirable that candidates hold the TAE22 Workplace Assessor Skills Set or are willing to undertake study to gain this accreditation.
