What do we want? This is an exciting opportunity with CIT's Human Services Department for experienced care workers, service coordinators or team leaders in aged care, disability services or in-home support who also have an interest in teaching in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
CIT's Human Services Department delivers a range of programs from the National Training Packages in Health Care and Community Services.
These include Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), Certificate IV Disability and the Diploma in Nursing, as well as a range of non-accredited, industry-specific programs for the continual education of industry professionals.
This position requires someone with experience and currency to teach and assess various competencies in CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support, especially all aspects of CHCCCS031 Provide Individualised Support and other related competencies.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS/LICENCING: Refer to the ACTPS CIT Educators EA 2023-2026, sub-Clause M10.4.
All new employees engaged at or below the Educator Level 1.2 with Vocational Education Training (VET) responsibilities must:
Hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent); orWhere the full qualification is not held, hold as a minimum prior to employment as an employee in any form, qualifications as required by the Standards for RTOs; andComplete the full qualification within 12 months of engagement and be supervised by a suitably qualified person.Clause M10.8 states that all employees at Educator Level 1.3 (TL1.7) to the Head of Department Level must hold a full Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent) and a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent).
A candidate with strong experience in industry and workplace training will be supported by CIT to enrol and complete the TAE40116.
Current ACT WWVP and industry-required vaccinations must be held by all Educators as they visit students in workplaces and while on placement.
Industry Experience: In accordance with sub-Clause M10.10 of the ACT Public Sector Canberra Institute of Technology Educators Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026:
All employees at Educator Level 1 or Level 2 are required to have relevant industry experience and vocational qualifications equal to that being taught, or as specified in the applicable training package or accredited curriculum specifications.Notes: An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
