YMCA Outside School Hours Care  (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school.
At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.
The Y Queensland's childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.
We are currently recruiting for OSHC Educators on a casual basis to join our YMCA Benowa Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.
About the service YMCA Benowa Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located within Benowa State School.
We are licensed for 90 children.
The Benowa State School is multi-cultural, with students currently identified from approximately 140 different national backgrounds.
We offer before and after school care from 6:30am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm , Monday to Friday.
We also offer Vacation Care, operating from 6:30am to 6:00pm.
We have 4 specific types of play which include creative play, exploration play, social play and physical play.
Our team like to give children the choice of activities by providing a suggestions box, and actively seek regular feedback from the children.
YMCA Benowa OSHC has access to the outdoor basketball court, the oval, playground and library.
Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children's agency and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood.
We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.
About the role As an OSHC Educator you are responsible for the care of children before school, after school and during school holiday periods.
You'll assist in running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children, such as science experiments, outdoor games, painting and musical activities.

Am I a good match?
You are currently studying or completed a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor degree in the field of children's services or similar You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination You hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification  You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one  What's in it for you?
