Educational Leader - Outside School Hours CareThe Y Queensland stand together with all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or belief. We are currently recruiting for an Educational Leader to join our team at YMCA Daisy Hill Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) opening in March 2025.
This is a permanent, part-time position.
About the role As the Educational Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development, and learning.
This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities, and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment, and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies, and procedures.
What will my time look like? Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator.Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development.Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and all internal and external stakeholders.Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices.Mentor and support educators' understanding of the educational program and practice.Ensure compliance with policy.Undertake administrative requirements.Work collaboratively with families and the school community.Am I a good match? Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education.Have sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Have a comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, and learning.A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles.Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas.Current First Aid and CPR Certification.Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, Blue Card.What's in it for you? About the service YMCA Daisy Hill Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located at Daisy Hill State School, licensed for 60 children daily.
With a strong focus on sustainability, creativity, wellbeing, and personal growth, the service has a unique playground area that explores expansive programs and activities.
