The role of Educational Developer reports to the Faculty Senior Educational Developer, Nexus Program and has no direct reports.Skills and Experience:To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.A degree in education or educational technologies with a depth of subsequent relevant experience in educational design, or other equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.Extensive experience in higher education curriculum design and/or quality assurance that has resulted in improved student learning and/or quality of teaching. Awareness of the disciplines of law, criminology, political sciences and/or humanities is desirable.High-level technical knowledge of, and functional experience with, established educational technologies, and experience in evaluating and facilitating the adoption of emerging educational technologies. Experience with Generative AI in an educational setting is desirable.Experience in one or more of the educationally aligned areas of belonging and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and/or societal impact (e.g. Sustainable Development Goals).Nuanced written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a university context.Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet competing deadlines using judgment and initiative, both independently and within a team. Demonstrated experience managing and contributing to projects within a larger program.Accountabilities:Specific accountabilities for this role include:Participate in and guide colleagues through curriculum design, development, and evaluation processes offering expert advice throughout.Support and lead the design, development and evaluation of quality learning experiences including synchronous in-class activities and asynchronous activities guided by relevant educational principles and the adoption of innovative educational technologies.Contribute to the design and implementation of quality assessment and feedback practices – with a particular focus on responding to developing educational technologies.Conceptualise, design and deliver a range of professional development offerings including authoring and maintaining instructional and procedural resources in a variety of formats, designing and facilitating events, and providing customised and sometimes time sensitive educational and technology related support.Use project management methodologies and educational knowledge to contribute to UNSW-wide, cross-Faculty, and Faculty/School education focused projects and initiatives.General accountabilities for this role include:Cooperating with all health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures of the University including taking all reasonable care to ensure that any actions or omissions do not impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of anyone in the UNSW community.Benefits and Culture:People are at the core of everything we do.
