Educational Designer – Part Time, Remote Permanant Part-Time 0.5FT Permanent part-time position with Flexible Work Opportunities Remote position ABOUT THE ROLE The Educational Designer is responsible for the educational design of learning materials. This role requires close collaboration with academic and research faculty members, both internal and external, to ensure the strategic and discipline-specific priorities are met.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Liaison between the allocated Discipline and the OLT team – including priorities, key projects, and requirements. Educational design development (including continuous improvement of subjects using student and academic feedback). Learning activity design Project managing key deliverables for subjects in their Discipline and as allocated Collaborating with academic Subject Matter Experts, academics, and experts. Contribute to and improve subject design Build subjects within the learning management system using various tools. Test subjects, along with other Online Learning team members. Design, develop and produce storyboards, scripts, and other educational artefacts and liaise with multimedia staff to realise learning outcomes. Manages and contributes to special projects in related areas. ABOUT YOU Strong organisational abilities, coordination, and project management skills. Interpersonal and communications skills and ability required to relate to people at all levels, including academic subject matter experts. Maintain an established work schedule. Research and analyse complex information. Ability to identify opportunities for interactive learning design, and harness digital media for teaching and learning. Minimum of two years' educational design and development work experience, preferably in a tertiary institution. Thorough understanding of online teaching and learning principles in the digital age. Educational strategies, curriculum standards, and assessments. Processes and standards for planning and implementing educational design and development. Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably including Moodle. Standard office software applications and web page editors, graphic software, and HTML, other interactive tools such as H5P (desirable).
