About The BUSY School… The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 45 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.
The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 8 campuses across Cairns, Brisbane, and Gold Coast/Coolangatta, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team supports the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increase their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration, and employment outcomes.
Our teams' focus is centred on re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and gain employment or further training outcomes upon the student's graduation from Year 12.
Job DescriptionAbout the position... Join The BUSY School Brisbane Campus! You will be required to case manage at-risk youth through assessment, case planning, implementation, monitoring, and review. You will monitor student attendance data and implement intervention strategies to assist students and families in maintaining a minimum 85% attendance. As a Youth Worker, your aim is to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people and families through integrated and coordinated service delivery.
This role is full-time, fixed term until December 2025, and you are only required to work 40 weeks a year (term time) with 4 weeks annual leave. The proposed salary below is calculated annually according to working time.
