Education & Wellbeing Coordinator - Caulfield

Details of the offer

MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises three school campuses: Geelong, Maidstone, and Caulfield. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKillop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma, and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students, which can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours.
About the role: The Education and Wellbeing Coordinator will implement in the classroom and across the programs a trauma-informed model of education that promotes unconditional positive regard for young people with complex and diverse needs. The coordinator will work collaboratively and provide expert educational advice and wellbeing support for the team and education leaders.
The Education and Wellbeing Coordinator leads the Wellbeing Team, including the development and implementation of the Wellbeing Strategic Plan at MacKillop Education.
This position is a full-time, fixed-term 3-year position located at the Caulfield campus. Our Offer: Generous salary and leave entitlements in line with the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022. Salary packaging up to $18,500 (helps increase your take-home pay). Discounted workplace health and fitness program available to you and your family. Paid on-site training that contributes to your professional development. Regular supervision. Great and Supportive Team. Awesome Location. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – free and confidential counselling, coaching, and emotional support for work and personal challenges. To be successful in this role: Appropriate tertiary qualifications and experience in education (VIT Registration). Understanding of and experience in implementing highly engaging and aspirational education programs for students at risk, in line with the appropriate curriculum framework. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement curriculum and education programs to meet the needs of students with complex needs, including an understanding of the impact of trauma and its effect on the capacity of young people to engage with education and learning. A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families. Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
If you are uncertain about the alignment of your skills and experience with the requirements of the position, we encourage you to reach out to Angela Alibrando (Principal) via email at to organise a phone call to discuss.
Essential: Valid and current Driver's Licence. Satisfactory Criminal History Check. Valid and current VIT. Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check. Our Commitment: MacKillop celebrates and draws strength from diversity and respects the dignity of all people. Every person at MacKillop has the right to be safe and to be treated justly. We value every person's ability, cultural or linguistic backgrounds, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, intersex status, relationship status, religious or spiritual beliefs, socio-economic status, and age.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.
It is our goal that MacKillop Family Services continues to evolve as a culturally safe, culturally competent, and welcoming organisation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families, and communities.
Shortlisting for this position may commence immediately, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
