Australia's Cooperative Research Centre for Solving Antimicrobial Resistance in Agribusiness, Food, and Environments (SAAFE) was established in Adelaide in 2022.
Dedicated to protecting the nation's food and agribusiness industries, SAAFE tackles AMR through a coordinated, cross-sectoral approach, uniting innovative industries with leading research organisations and government agencies.
Partnering with viticulture, aquaculture, horticulture, water, organic waste, stockfeed, and animal industries, SAAFE will invest over $150m into collaborative research by 2033 to support the development, sharing, and implementation of solutions through targeted projects.
Reporting to the Research Director, the Education & Training Program Lead manages the SAAFE Education and Training Program, including the SAAFE Scholars Program and the development of industry practitioner-focussed educational opportunities.
Supporting the development and delivery of relevant training and development opportunities for the wider SAAFE community, specific responsibilities include:
Coordinating delivery of the SAAFE Scholars Program, ensuring timely completion, One Health literacy, and industry readiness;Developing and implementing training opportunities for SAAFE Scholars and partner participants in areas such as One Health AMR, communication, futurism, and transdisciplinary research;Leading student recruitment efforts and ensuring alignment with SAAFE priorities and member university processes;Managing calls for PhD proposals including application reviews;Coordinating and managing events, workshops, networking forums and industry presentations, and facilitating industry-linked placements and internships;Acting as key liaison for PhD candidates and supervisors and managing professional development budgets;Developing and reporting on program monitoring and evaluation metrics and managing the operations of the SAAFE Education & Training Advisory Committee.Applications are sought from candidates with a relevant undergraduate degree (preferably a research degree), with proven experience in the higher education and/or research sector and familiarity with national research frameworks.
Experience of HDR administration and/or management is desirable.
The ability to develop training and development programs and resources, highly developed stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, commercial acumen, and a genuine commitment to advancing the critical work of SAAFE CRC will be important.
