Location Profile Cranbourne East Secondary College (CESC), located in the Hunt Club Estate, adjacent to Cranbourne East Primary School and Marnebek School, was established in 2011.

The College is in Cranbourne East, approximately 55 kilometers south-east from Melbourne CBD. As a Public Private Partnership school, we continue to experience rapid enrolment growth, with a year 7-12 enrolment exceeding 2150 students in 2024, an almost 10% increase on 2023.

The Cranbourne East community and cohort is very multicultural, with a significant number of students born overseas and coming from language backgrounds other than English. Students from refugee backgrounds make up approximately 9.7% of the entire cohort and 1% of students are indigenous. The 2024 SFOE index is 0.4551.

The College currently has the equivalent of 173 full time staff, including a Principal, seven Assistant Principals, 11 Learning Specialists, 21 Leading Teachers, EFT 156.1 teaching staff, and 56.6 Education Support staff.

Cranbourne East Secondary College continues to develop a strong sense of community through areas of focus including house culture, student voice and agency, attendance and connectedness, transitions, Positive Education, and wellbeing.

CESC is known and respected for the high expectations we have of our entire community, in all aspects of college life. These expectations extend beyond agreed behaviours and are ingrained in the learning that students are demonstrating in the classroom and form the basis for our comprehensive extra-curricular programs.

Selection Criteria 1. Highly developed counselling skills and experience in counselling adolescents presenting with a range of issues who may be self-referred, teacher or parent referred.

2. Knowledge of case management and student support strategies, with a demonstrated capacity to deliver a comprehensive wellbeing service to students and families in an educational setting.

3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with the wide range of people within the education and wider community.

4. Demonstrated ability to manage a range of complex wellbeing-related incidents and ensure that all relevant processes are followed (school-based, Department of Education and other legislative requirements).

5. Demonstrated ability to actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all students in line with the Child Safe Standards.

Role Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Counselling of Complex Needs Students Provide one on one counselling for high risk and/or complex needs students Risk assessments and safety planning of students in crisis Ensure mandatory reporting processes are followed in regard to student disclosures. Case Management Refer students and families to external mental health service providers Collaborate with external mental health service providers Develop, implement and review case management plans for complex needs students Communicate case management plans and build partnerships with Sub-School Leaders, Assistant Principals, and other relevant stakeholders Attend SSGs and case review meetings Early Intervention Plan, develop, implement and facilitate targeted group interventions for at-risk students. Promote and facilitate proactive social activities and services, both within the school and in partnership with the wider community agencies and support services. Contribute to the planning and promotion of school-wide wellbeing initiatives and promotion days. Collate relevant data and statistics of Wellbeing activities Record and review case notes Ongoing communication with parents, Sub-School Leaders, and teaching staff Daily reporting to Wellbeing Leader and Assistant Principal Any other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate. Professional Development Maintain awareness of current best practice in your area of work, DET and in secondary education Undertake ongoing professional learning and development Participate in professional development opportunities within areas relevant to your role Support continuous improvement, evaluation and evidence-based innovation in school programs College Community Develop positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff and the wider College community Participate in the culture and life of the College Collaborate with and support colleagues in a fast-paced environment Participate in specific meetings of school committees as required Make contributions to the Daily Bulletin, College newsletters, annual magazine and other school publications as appropriate.
