St Mark's College is looking for enthusiastic Education Support Officers – (Curriculum) to work during the hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm, weekdays. Two positions are available, starting in January 2025.
Suitable for University students looking to gain experience working in a school environment, with flexibility around studies/placement commitments, and/or suitable for experienced classroom support staff.
As an Education Support Officer - Curriculum you will:
Assist students (either primary or secondary) with in-class learning, using prepared and structured programs developed by teachers. Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences (e.g. assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising classrooms and/or intervention programs). Assist teachers with the care of students on excursions and camps, as required. Apply personal knowledge and initiative to suggest modifications to educational programs to meet the learning needs of specific students, subject to approval of the teacher. Assist in the daily administrative operations. Develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff. To be successful in this role you will have:
Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) or other associated qualification relevant for a school setting (i.e. Education Degree), and/or previously demonstrated experience working in a classroom support role. Current Working With Children Clearance. Catholic Clearance to undertake paid work in a Catholic school. Responding to the Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC). First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012). This is a Part-time, Permanent position; Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm during term times, plus one week prior to commencement of the school year (41 weeks).
