About the College:
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the leading standards body responsible for the training and education of specialists and GP obstetricians in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.

RANZCOG is committed to the establishment and maintenance of the highest possible standards of practice in women's health and provides programs in training, accreditation and continuing professional development (CPD) that are responsive to the evolving health care needs of women.

RANZCOG supports research into women's health and acts as an advocate for women's healthcare by forging productive relationships with individuals, the community and professional organisations, both locally and internationally.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Education Development, and working in a leadership capacity, this role is critical in providing educational expertise to develop and implement College initiatives relating to education development.
The primary focus of the role is to lead projects that align the curricula to the learning resources and CPD following the 'across the continuum' approach.
The role also has line management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Provide educational expertise to strategic projects focusing on - Concepts of lifelong learning, Adult education, Self-directed learning, Training program and pathway design.Ensure that RANZCOG CPD home provides structured, high-quality framework for the ongoing education and professional development of obstetricians and gynecologists, aligned with national regulatory requirements set by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) standards, Australian Medical Council (AMC) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Lead the project to align education/learning resources and programs to the RANZCOG training programs curricula while ensuring that they serve training requirements.Ensure that education/learning resources and programs are aligned with the CPD standards and are effective and appropriate offerings that serve the requirements of ongoing professional development needs of obstetricians, gynaecologists and other health professionals who choose RANZCOG as their CPD home.Lead the project to align education/learning resources and programs to the eight RANZCOG roles following an 'across the continuum approach' that spans the entire trajectory of professional development of our O&Gs – from PVP through CWH, PTP, APTP, Fellowship and into continuing professional development.Evaluate the needs of CPD participants to optimise the CPD program opportunities and make recommendations.Work closely with Education and e-Learning unit to support the development of education programs and learning resources.Support the yearly CPD verification/audit process.Oversee the CPD non-compliance, overdue and reinstatement process.Provide leadership and line management for direct report/s in the Education Standards team.Contribute to strategies that support the development of best practice education programs and College initiatives relating to education and training.Develop project planning documents e.g.
project roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, communication and evaluation plans.Liaise with other staff including those from Curriculum, Training Programs, Education & e-Learning Programs and CPD to ensure updates are operationalised and communicated as required.Oversee coordination tasks of the CPD committee.
This involves ensuring timely preparation and dissemination of agendas and minutes, ensuring that follow up actions are completed efficiently, and support is provided to any sub-project groups associated with the CPD Committee as needed.Manage the CPD activity approval process in line with the CPD framework and RANZCOG learning resources standards in collaboration with the Education and e-Learning unit.
This also includes CPD hours allocation for RANZCOG committee members, and that for internal and external courses (such as RACGP).Support the CPD Support unit with the annual verification process.Plan communications with the RANZCOG communications team regarding CPD Home via relevant channels to improve uptake of RANZCOG as CPD home by health professionals.Ko wai koe | About you - Key Selection Criteria A postgraduate qualification in Education and/or Healthcare, and with relevant experience in secondary, tertiary or postgraduate educational settings.Experience in designing, delivering and coordinating education programs at the secondary, tertiary or postgraduate level or equivalent experience in identifying, planning and implementing improvements to address changing educational requirements with a particular focus on high standards of compliance.An understanding of the learning support needs of a training program (preferably postgraduate medical training) and demonstrated ability to design, develop and operationalise education programs and pathways effectively.A strong interest in and the ability to grasp complex issues relating to medical education and women's health.Demonstrated experience in management and/or the coordination of small teams to achieve quality outcomes in defined timeframes, preferably in a medical/educational environment.Experience in supporting committees including preparation of agenda and drafting minutes.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, particularly in regard to report writing, correspondence and presentations and the ability to effectively document work performed.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, individuals and groups, whilst maintaining positive relationships.Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within strict timeframes.The ability to work without close supervision, as a member of a team; be enthusiastic and self-motivated; contribute ideas and collaborate in their implementation.Expertise in the use of Windows-based PC applications with emphasis on database, word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Word and Excel preferred).Demonstrated behavioural capabilities, knowledge and experiences consistent with our Organisational Values.Ka whiwhi koe i te aha | What you will get in return Working at RANZCOG means enjoying a strong sense of purpose and engaging in meaningful work every day.
