There is an exciting opportunity to join our Student Child and Family Connect portfolio in Darling Downs South West Region and make a greater impact in children's and families' lives. In the role of Principal Education Officer, Students in Care, you will provide specialist operational advice to principals and senior officers on the delivery of projects, leading and implementing regional based program initiatives that are consistent with a state-wide model to maximise learning days and deliver meaningful pathways for Students in Care. The position of Principal Education Officer, Students in Care, in DDSW Region reports to the Director, Student Child and Family Connect.

About the Role: Responsibilities include:
Providing strategic advice to assist in planning for the use of resources to facilitate the equitable delivery of services to Students in Care across the region based on a state-wide service delivery model. Providing specialist operational advice to schools, regional staff and senior officers on the delivery of the Students in Care program. Contributing to regional planning and goal setting by providing high-level and timely advice to senior officers on implementing inclusive and equitable schooling practices for Students in Care. Providing leadership in the implementation, maintenance and review of operational policies, standards, and procedures. Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships across government, school communities, and community organisations. Promoting and monitoring programs that effectively meet the needs of Students in Care. Developing a coherent approach to the implementation of school-based services that promote student wellbeing and engagement. Managing, monitoring and reporting on the regional Education Support Funding Program (ESFP) budget. Maintaining data sets and providing data analysis reports to inform practice in the region. Overseeing and managing regional Education Support Funding Programs. Overnight travel is a requirement in this position.
