The position is based at Berrimah, Catholic Education Office.The Organisation:CENT includes a network of 18 schools in the Northern Territory (five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools), Early Learning Centres and the Catholic Education head office (CEO) located in Berrimah.The Role:The Education Officer – Religious Education (Primary) is responsible for the provision of professional support for Principals, Assistant Principals Religious Education, Religious Education Coordinators and teachers in:Promoting increased engagement and excellence in the teaching and learning of Religious Education.Offering enlivened learning experiences through contemporary pedagogical approaches to the teaching, assessment and reporting of the Journey in Faith Curriculum, inclusive of the Made in the Image and Likeness of God human sexuality program.Supporting teachers and local teachers in Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools in promoting culturally responsive pedagogies in Religious Education.Key Responsibilities:Support and promote the value, principles and ethos of Catholic Education.Provide support to assist leaders in the expression of Catholic mission and identity.Provide in-school support for Assistant Principal Religious Education (APREs) and Religious Education Coordinators (RECs) in embedding the Journey in Faith curriculum and in the provision of resources, curriculum advice and pedagogical practices in Religious Education.Contribute to the Assistant Principal Religious Education and Religious Education Coordinators' Network, particularly in resourcing the Religious Education Curriculum.Plan and implement faith formation experiences for teachers in Catholic schools within the Diocese of Darwin in collaboration with the Leader - Catholic Identity and Mission at CENT and external providers.Provide support for teachers undertaking studies in Leadership, Theology and/or Religious Education.Contribute, lead, plan and facilitate prayer and liturgical celebrations to enhance the faith formation experiences of staff in Catholic schools.What we Offer:Relocation AssistanceFunded Professional DevelopmentEmployee Assistance ProgramThis position will involve working with children.
