About the Role Reporting to the Supervisor: K-12 Curriculum and Post School Pathways, the Education Officer: Post School Pathways assists and supports students with disabilities and their families determine pathways to work or further training/education options post-secondary school.
You will work closely with schools across the networks in the archdiocese.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Understanding and applying NESA syllabus requirements K-12 with particular emphasis on Stages 5 and 6 including Life Skills courses and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to support students into appropriate work or learning pathways. Utilising NCCD data and other diagnostics to comprehensively assess student capabilities and competencies to determine appropriate post-school options. Liaising with secondary principals, curriculum coordinators and diverse learning teams in schools to collaborate and advise on the adjustments required for students engaging in a Life Skills program of study. Maintaining accurate and concise records of collaborative meetings and reporting on the impact of this collaboration as required. Contributing to the implementation of all NCCD processes, including professional learning, data analysis, moderation and other duties as required. Facilitating a range of professional learning opportunities at school, network and system levels. Implementing advice and direction from leaders to achieve desired outcomes. Coordinating and engaging with students, their families and a range of stakeholders during a period of significant transition. Contributing to the work of the entire Diverse Learning team. Any other duties from time to time. About You To be successful in this position, you must possess:

A university degree in Education or teaching. A NESA recognised teaching qualification. The ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience supporting students with disability in secondary school settings. Comprehensive knowledge of NESA Stage 5 and 6 syllabus requirements, VET pathways, Life Skills courses and credentialing procedures for students with disability. Experience in leading staff in professional learning. Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives. A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle. Five years middle leadership experience in a school. Knowledge of the Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems. Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools
