About the Role
Situated in the Learning, Teaching and Wellbeing team, the Education Officer: Learning and Teaching (Mathematics: 7-12) exists to support school leaders and teachers in the design, delivery and leadership of quality learning and quality teaching practices across our system of schools. It has a particular focus on the KLA of Mathematics and the integration of numeracy across all KLAs.
As the new Education Officer, you will:
Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the DioceseCollaborate with schools to support the development of the Educational Leadership capabilities and practices in staff, as detailed in the CEDB Leading the Way frameworkWork closely with Teachers in support of enhanced instructional competence and assisting with the implementation of system strategic priorities and initiativesLiaising with relevant CEDB staff, principals, contact persons, classroom teachers, support teachers, assistants, parents and guardians and external stakeholders as requiredProviding and coordinating professional development for teachers to increase their capacity to use multimodal approaches in effective and appropriate ways to support classroom learning and teachingUndertake travel around our Diocese where requiredAbout you
We are looking for someone who meets the following selection criteria:
A commitment to support the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition in the workplaceA background in primary or secondary Catholic school education with demonstrated success as a classroom practitionerDemonstrated success working in secondary Catholic school education with a focus on MathematicsCompleted Postgraduate study in education and/or leadership will be an advantageCapacity to draw on current research and evidence based best practice to plan, implement and support school improvement in Learning and TeachingWell-developed written, presentation and interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders including Principals, teachers, students, families and external agenciesDemonstrated capacity to manage workload, display initiative and work collaborativelyNext Steps
