Education Officer(Job Number: 240001R6)DescriptionAbout the roleBe part of an inspired and passionate team of teachers who make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable road users every day by teaching our award-winning education programs to schools and community groups.
The RACQ Education Team have a learning and development focus that enables us to give back to the Queensland community by teaching road safety to over 60,000 young people each year.As an RACQ Education Officer you will deliver our high school and/or primary school road safety education programs, Driver IQ, Docudrama, Driver Distraction and/or Streets Ahead throughout Toowoomba and the surrounding regions.
Day to day, you will be travelling to schools in a supplied car, teaching our engaging and interactive programs and liaising with schools to coordinate the teaching of programs.
When not in schools, you have the flexibility to work from home.Our team, currently based in FNQ, NQ, CQ and SEQ is expanding its reach.
You would be working alongside another team member in Toowoomba, and you can travel throughout the greater Toowoomba region and away from your home base for up to a week at a time across regional and remote Queensland.
Standard working hours of 7.5 hours per day with variations to start/finish time as required to accommodate travel and teaching to schools and flexibility in role.This is a full-time, permanent position starting February 3rd, 2025.About youDemonstrated experience teaching in high school or primary school in a classroom environment.Excellent range of classroom management skills that enable you to build rapport with students and engage them in our road safety programs.Demonstrated compassion in understanding the challenges facing adolescents and children in the road safety space and a desire to make a positive difference for them as road users.Self-reflective and committed to positively utilise feedback to improve teaching practices.Demonstrated capacity to differentiate your teaching for students of different ages and contexts.Flexibility and discernment to effectively manage and respond to change.Growth mindset and an accountability for your actions and decisions.Work well within a team environment, able to connect and engage in person and virtually.Demonstrated capacity to work independently, managing time and focus to produce high-quality work without supervision.Good understanding of a range of Microsoft programs and A/V related technology.Excellent interpersonal, phone and written communication skills.Tertiary qualification in Education.Current open C class Driver Licence.Queensland College of Teacher Registration OR Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card).The role of Education Officer will require the successful applicant to complete a pre-employment medical to assess if you can safely handle the physical demands of this role.
