ABOUT THE ROLE As an Education Engagement Support Officer, your key responsibilities include:
Support students in the classroom by working one-to-one with students or in small groups to assist students to engage with the content and reinforce and clarify lessons. Duties include:Assist to maintain a supportive learning environment.Provide a safe and secure environment to all students and role model a calm and consistent approach.Build rapport with students.Language and literacy support.Numeracy support.Emotional regulation support.Implementation of intervention strategies to manage challenges.Assist in the implementation of Learning Access Plans for students and help monitor their progress.Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities, including excursions.Assist the teachers with supervision, when required, by following standardised practices and/or methods on adequate supervision.In collaboration with, and under the supervision of teachers, provide instruction to the student/s in a variety of individual and group activities.Ensure consistency with the Child Safe Standards and respond in accordance with Chisholm's policies and agreed practices.Under the advice and direction of the Education Manager, ensure child safety concerns are reported within the required timeframe to designated "Child Safety Reporting Officer" and child safe lead. Document appropriately.Triage any student safety concerns, hazards or incidents to the Education Manager and subsequently lodge a report via incident and hazard tile on Chisholm Intranet.ABOUT YOU You are a highly motivated individual with demonstrated trauma awareness and sensitivity towards and understanding of young people with learning difficulties and differences.
