Position Overview:

Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is looking for an experienced VET Education Design Specialist to permanently join our team and deliver on its mission to meet future skill needs in the electric vehicle industry. WHAT DO WE WANT?

We are seeking someone with an in-depth understanding of education design principles to build future-focused national training products, resources, and services in the field of Electric Vehicles (EV). Working closely with senior leaders, the Education Design Specialist will be key in fulfilling the requirements under the National Skills Agreement (NSA) and associated funding allocations. The position is part of the EV Centre of Excellence team of specialists who will work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment engaging with automotive and related industries, partner tertiary education institutions, peak bodies, Jobs and Skills Councils, community organisations, and state and ACT Government skills agencies. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Working collaboratively with educational designers from partner tertiary education institutions, subject matter experts from the electrical vehicle industry, and Jobs and Skills Council training specialists, as an Education Design Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the design of innovative national training products, resources, and services that align with future industry needs. Demonstrating your comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practice of discipline-based learning and assessment and the Australian vocational and higher education legislative, regulatory, and quality frameworks. You will also promote and support an embedded approach to the creation and continuous improvement of modular and bespoke training to meet the needs of learners, industry, and employers. The position will also work with internal stakeholders to ensure that innovations in education co-design and delivery are socialised across all teaching areas and integrated with the digitalisation and change management agenda to support Cloud Campus implementation and expansion of our contemporary learning spaces. WHAT DO I NEED?

To be successful in this position you will be an experienced and suitably qualified Vocational Education and Learning professional with a passion for educational design. An understanding of contemporary vocational and tertiary learning programs, including accredited qualifications, non-accredited short courses, and micro-credentials, and recognition of prior learning programs are essential in this role. Your innovative approach to teaching and learning will support CIT's future-oriented approach to work-integrated training and your exceptional leadership skills will allow you to build a future-ready team. You will be able to interpret complex information, provide advice to a wide range of stakeholders, and excellent customer service skills are essential in this position. Often this work is completed within tight deadlines and limited supervision, and as such, the ability to work autonomously, prioritise work activities, and problem-solve are key skills required. As a leader within CIT, this position is required to engage, inspire, energise, and positively influence institute-wide and individual practices, while genuinely engaging to meet the diverse needs of staff across the Institute. Experience in a similar position will be highly regarded. Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Training and Assessment Certificate IV TAE40116 (or equivalent) Diploma of Vocational Education and Training TAE50116 (or equivalent)
