Walkerston State School is looking for an experienced, passionate and motivated educator to join the leadership team as Deputy Principal for 2025.
This is a temporary full-time position commencing 23 January 2025 until 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determined.
The Deputy Principal's main focus will be on student well-being and community connection.

Walkerston State School is located 14.5km west of Mackay and caters for approximately 310 students from Prep to Year 6.

About the Role:
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
Be futures-oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
Manage resources to achieve goals.
