This is a 12-month fixed term, part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanencyPingelly Primary School (PS) is located 160 kilometres south-east of Perth.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are drawn from the rural community and from the town itself.
Thirty percent of the school's students are Aboriginal.Our experienced staff are committed to delivering an inclusive and balanced curriculum which addresses the diverse needs of our students.
A comprehensive pastoral care system supported by the Grass Roots Foundation is embedded in the operations of the school.
Various extension programs are offered to our students in Photography in connection to Desert Light Foundation, Writing and Mathematics.
The school has strong collaborative partnerships with parents and the wider community.Find out more about our school by visiting or The RolePingelly PS are seeking a passionate, hardworking Special Needs Education Assistant to join their regional school.As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work and assist in education programs and promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Education Assistants may assist teachers in the delivery of planned education programs to support students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Within this role, you would provide feedback when required on education programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals.You should ideally have a high level of interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with staff members, parents, students and other providers to meet the needs of students.
Applicants will ideally possess the knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties and the ability to support student growth, both academically and socially, within the classroom setting.It is highly desirable for the successful applicants to have experience in working in an Early Childhood setting and the ability to respond to the needs of students with a range of learning needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), specific learning disabilities and trauma.
It would be preferable to have working experience using a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, visual supports, Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) and Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
