The YMCA of Bundaberg Disability Resource Centre and Toy Library is a vital community service that provides students with additional needs the learning resources they require to participate fully in classroom activities.

About the YMCA of Bundaberg The YMCA of Bundaberg Ltd was established in 1988.
In addition to the traditional offerings of Childcare, Health, Fitness and sporting activities, the YMCA of Bundaberg has expanded locally to become a major provider of community inclusion programs that cover NDIS, youth and seniors programs within our Community.

The Opportunity We have an opportunity for a casual Education Advisor at our Disability Resource Centre and Toy Library.
The role will involve building relationships with schools across the Bundaberg Region as well as selecting educational resources and linking our current resources to the Australian Curriculum.

The Disability Resource Centre & Toy Library receives funding via the Education Department of Queensland.

Typical hours would be one day per week and every 2nd Saturday morning.
Applicants will need to address the selection criteria.

Selection Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Education.
Demonstrated ability to develop educational resources and programs for students with disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to provide a range of professional services including in-service presentations, training in the use of Adaptive Technology, and advice on the use of educational resources.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to work effectively in the school environment, establish networks, and maintain good public relations.

As part of our Safeguarding framework, all applicants must undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
International criminal history checks (if applicable).
Working with Children Clearance/equivalent.
Three reference checks.
Who We Are Looking For We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who can offer soft skills in areas such as communication and community engagement.
Availability: Must be available to work every second weekend.
