About the role This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Australia's much-loved brand, WHO! As the Editor, you'll lead the charge in curating the perfect blend of celebrity and lifestyle content across our dynamic website, who.com.au, social channels (Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok), EDMs and our print magazine. We're seeking a digital-first editor who can take our brand to new heights by spearheading strategic digital initiatives across all channels. From crafting compelling stories to driving commercial success, you'll be at the forefront of our omnichannel expansion, ensuring that Who remains a household name in every medium for decades to come. Collaborating closely with our Editorial Director of Entertainment, you'll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity while keeping a keen eye on deadlines and budgets. Duties The Editor will be responsible for driving the omnichannel editorial direction of the title, including cover and content strategy, issue forward planning, and managing the omnichannel content team to deliver on all KPIs and goals in line with the brand strategic plan, budgets and timelines. Ideate and secure commercially strong content, including cover line-ups and digital content in line with best practice using SEO and key data insights Maintain a high-quality editorial content mix across pillars and platforms Execute on strategies set by Are Media's Centres of Excellence (Social, SEO, EDMs) Manage, lead and inspire 5+ direct reports Drive a united cross-platform Omni Channel team with a shoppable mindset Drive and maintain best practice workflows Skills and experience 10 + years relevant experience in magazines/digital media Be a true WHO brand champion Be commercially driven to achieve revenue and EBITDA targets across the brand A history in creating, editing or commissioning quality omnichannel journalism Strong contact list that spans across talent, PRs and media High attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work positively with a wide variety of stakeholders and be efficient in managing up as well as down Experience in/understanding of working across multiple platforms Flexibility to change and ability to manage the related demands Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
