Your passion for content and all things digital will see you joining an energetic team of editors across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
The city Editor will create, manage, and distribute exceptional on-brand content that drives audience growth and engagement across all of Urban List's channels.
You will have the ability to conceptualise innovative content ideas and develop unique angles to drive brand awareness and audience engagement, and develop and execute strategies to grow and foster engagement with Urban List's Perth audience.
In this role, you'll be working closely as part of a passionate and smart content crew who love what they do just as much as you.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Audience Growth And Engagement
Develop and execute strategies to grow and foster engagement with U:L's Perth audience across all U:L channels.
Enhance brand visibility through optimising the U:L outreach process.
Analyse audience metrics and feedback to optimise content performance, enhance user engagement, identify trends, insights, and opportunities for audience growth and content improvement.
Assist in the adherence to monthly budgets, benchmarks, traffic and engagement targets; analysing variances, reporting and providing insights to the team.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the Perth small business and hospitality landscape including key players, trends, and market dynamics.
Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Deep understanding of digital publishing platforms, content management systems, and social media channels, with the ability to leverage these tools to maximise content visibility and engagement.
Content Curation And Analysis
Create and manage engaging, on-brand content across all of U:L's channels, utilising SEO best practices and digital analytics to optimise performance and drive audience growth and engagement.
Collaborate with and coach freelancer creators (written, social, and video) to achieve audience, engagement, and revenue goals.
Ability to conceptualise innovative content ideas and develop unique angles to differentiate U:L's Perth coverage, driving brand awareness and audience engagement.
Partnerships and Thought Leadership
Represent U:L at industry events and media engagements to build our network, enhance U:L's brand, and expand our reach.
Proactively monitor global and local trends, understand the competitor landscape, engage in industry best practices, and deliver insights to the team.
Position Urban List as a thought leader through innovative content strategies and thought leadership initiatives.
Revenue
Actively contribute to U:L's affiliate goals.
Assist in and adhere to best practice processes to help the editorial team achieve revenue goals.
Identify and pursue opportunities for revenue generation, working closely with the content and sales team to drive revenue growth for U:L. KEYS TO BEING SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
Minimum 5 years' experience in creating, managing, and distributing content in an online environment.
A deep understanding of SEO, email marketing, digital analytics, content management systems, and social media channels.
A passion for and in-depth knowledge of the Perth small business and hospitality landscape including key players, trends, and market dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership skills, with a proven record of achieving business targets.
Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
Broad content creation skill set, including writing, editing, affiliate content, video content creation, and management of photography/image-based assets.
Excellent organisational and management skills.
Attention to detail is a must.
Willingness to attend events (sometimes outside of regular hours) as an Urban List brand representative.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
Journalism, communications, or editing/publishing qualifications are a plus.
