Edinburgh Fringe 2024 - Sound Technician Underbelly Ltd Deadline: 31 May 2024 at 11:00 Underbelly are looking for Sound Technicians to work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from late July through August. Job Title: Sound Technician Department: Technical Reports To: Technical Manager Responsible For: n/a Rate of Pay: £15.50/hr (plus holiday pay) Dates of Work: 22nd July – 28th August 2024 Available Contracts: Working in one of our larger venues, you will be working on a rota with another Sound Technician in your venue. You will get a minimum of 1 day off per week. Max 48 per week. Job Role - Installing and subsequent removal of sound equipment in performance venues. - Welcoming visiting companies, assisting with their technical rehearsals, rigging specials and programming where required. - Assisting in daily turnarounds between shows. - Operating shows as required. - Keeping full record of all information pertaining to sound requirements for shows, including turnaround notes, cue sheets and any other paperwork required. - Ensuring that all backstage facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standard. - Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to by visiting companies and report any issues to management. Person Specification - Experience of working as a sound technician in a professional environment. - Good knowledge of theatrical sound technology including rigging, patching, focussing and programming of digital sound desks, preferably on Midas or Yamaha desks. - Good working knowledge of health and safety in a theatrical environment. - Excellent problem solving skills. - Comfortable working at height.
