This pivotal role directly impacts the quality of learning and teaching by optimising student outcomes through exceptional access to educational resources, innovative library programs, and the integration of information literacy and technology into teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven library leadership experience in higher education or senior secondary setting.A strong understanding of, or willingness to learn International Baccalaureate (IB) programs to teach research skills, develop research-based assignments with staff, and provide guidance on academic integrity within the IB framework.Commitment to the school's values (from 2025) of Respect, Integrity, Courage and Compassion.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the school community and academic success of its students.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for the Head of Library role include but are not limited to:
Providing strategic leadership and direction for the library, ensuring programs align with the school's values and strategic objectives.Fostering a respectful, collaborative culture within the library team and supporting teacher librarians in delivering tailored teaching programs and enrichment activities to meet diverse student needs.Collaborating with faculty, subject coordinators, learning specialists and senior leadership to enhance student learning outcomes.Leading initiatives to develop students' academic writing, research skills and understanding of academic integrity.Other school administrative duties as directed by the Principal and/or Business Manager.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
