RoleRange 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall physical maintenance requirements of the school. This position will require identification and rectification of short-term needs as well as a knowledge of occupational health and safety issues.
Ensure the maintenance requirements of the school are met.Manage the maintenance and good order of all school facilities and assets.Manage contractors.Liaise with DET cleaning company.Maintain the School Maintenance System Data Base and monitor works to be completed.Work with school leadership on the EMP matters.Prepare agendas/minutes of all meetings of Buildings and Grounds Committee.Oversee relevant annual budgets.Liaise with and support school leadership on all matters relating to OH&S.Attend all meetings relating to major building projects.Manage maintenance staff.Arrange regular visits to discuss outstanding work.Oversee the operations of AIMS.Coordinate all OH&S Meetings including Chair, agendas and minutes.Provide Official purchase order forms for repairs and maintenance.Manage all maintenance jobs.Manage and organise all quotations for all major and minor works within the school.Manage all compliance ESM and data log.Manage and maintain the current electrical tagging system.Oversee chemical register documentation.Manage school assets including organising stocktakes.Capacity to manage a diverse and sustainable school eco system.Liaise with the principal team and Business Manager on a regular basis.Other duties as directed.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
