The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an ECT Coordinator (Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity
The purpose of this position is to ensure effective coordination and facilitation of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To ensure high quality client-focused care in accordance with the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, professional standards, and National Mental Health Standards.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure national standard audits are completed correctly.
Rectify red flag reports on time.
Work with NUM/CNC collaboratively to send the report back to MHHS Quality and Safety in a prompt manner.
Coordinate direct patient care.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between staff and other departments or wards regarding client care.
Maintain a high standard of nursing care and contribute to the provision of high quality ECT services by organising, coordinating, and facilitating the delivery of care for patients receiving inpatient, outpatient, and emergency ECT.
About the Team
The Mental Health Inpatient Unit provides care to people who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.
If a person is admitted to an acute inpatient unit, it is often because their mental illness is not manageable in a less restrictive setting, such as community-based support.
