You will also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to independently respond to client needs.Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Economist: you will ideally have at least 2-4 years' experience undertaking high quality research and analysis. You will understand how construction industry developments are affected by – and impact – the broader economy and want to take the next steps to become a global expert in the field.As a Senior Economist: you will ideally have at least 5 years' experience in leading and undertaking high quality research and analysis. You will be a thought leader who understands how global developments impact – and are impacted by – the construction sector, and be able to present your insights clearly for clients.About the roleWe are looking for a candidate to project manage several existing subscription services, and who will contribute to the continued development of our fast-growing global construction service. The role is based in our Sydney office.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequiredUndergraduate degree in Economics or related field (honours or masters desired but not essential)Comfortable working and liaising with our clients who are typically senior management in large corporations and government organisations.Experience working with econometric models – specifically time series techniquesA proven, demonstrable track record of economic analysis and researchExperience developing quantitative forecasting modelsMust be highly organised and able to manage multiple deliverables at onceMust have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointMust be a self-starter, with the drive to set and reach ambitious goalsMust be a team playerMust have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain economic concepts and quantitative results, as well as their implications, to non-specialists.DesiredAdvanced degree in EconomicsExperience programming in R or PythonExperience conducting research and analysis in the construction industry.
