It's a place where breathtaking scenery, unique wildlife, world-class fishing experiences, delicious, locally sourced food, inspirational art and 60,000 years of culture are all weaved into one incredible story: The Hinchinbrook Way.The OpportunityAs the Economic Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of initiatives from the Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan aimed at attracting investment, supporting local business, enhancing tourism opportunities and building partnerships with key stakeholders.We are seeking someone who loves being involved with promoting destinations, creating and managing content, coordinating events and building partnerships. The role will also assist with market research, analysing visitor trends and tailoring marketing strategies that target audiences effectively. You will be required to represent Council at industry events and networking meetings so strong communication and networking skills are essential.To be successful, you will demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with Council's values of Integrity, People Focused, Excellence and Sustainability and you will possess the following:Skills and Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of marketing strategies and tools;Developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;Demonstrated ability to bring about partnerships between various Government agencies, business and community groups;Ability to manage multiple demands within required timeframes along with the ability to self-motivate and work under limited supervision;Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences; andExperience in funding applications, project management and/or project planning.Our CouncilHinchinbrook Shire Council is one of the largest employers in the region with approximately 200 employees working across multiple technical, administrative, operational and senior management roles.
