The Role
Join the Town of Port Hedland as Economic Development Officer and lead economic development initiatives that will directly contribute to enhancing liveability and regional prosperity.
Reporting to the Principal Economic Development, you will proactively manage the delivery of initiatives that support new and existing businesses, attract investment, support the development of tourism, while fostering sustainable growth and diversification of our nationally-important economy.
You will be working in the powerhouse of Australia's economy, with the Port of Port Hedland supply chain responsible for 4% of Australia's Gross Domestic Product.
To be successful in this position, you will be highly motivated, have excellent project management skills, including consultant supervision, and enjoy working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
Holding tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, marketing, or related field, you will bring a strong understanding of sustainable local economic development.
Your excellent time management skills, proactive approach, and demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work will be key to your success in this role.
Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
Bachelor's degree in commerce, economics, marketing, or related field and/or demonstrated experience in delivering economic development projects.
