ECE Evaluative Lecturers - AUT School of Education (Hourly Paid Positions)The School of Education/Te Kura Matauranga in the Faculty of Culture and Society, AUT University, is a leading provider of education programmes at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Due to expansion, we are currently seeking applications for Evaluative Lecturers to work with practicum students in our Early Childhood Initial Teacher Education programmes from February 2025.
The role of Evaluative Lecturer is an hourly paid casual contract position that involves visiting, mentoring, and evaluating student teachers on practicum placements.
Successful applicants will be required to travel across Auckland to visit student teachers in their practicum centres.
The role would suit experienced teacher leaders or teacher educators who work part-time and are looking for a professional challenge that fits around their other commitments or recently retired teachers/lecturers with leadership experience in ECE.
Key Responsibilities: Visit, mentor, and evaluate student teachers on practicum placements.Travel across Auckland to various practicum centres.Minimum Requirements: Strong oral and written communication skills.Flexibility and time management skills.Ability to work positively with diverse adult learners.Prior mentoring experience in the Early Childhood Sector in Aotearoa New Zealand.Hold teacher registration and a current (full) practising certificate with the Teaching Council of New Zealand.This role is considered a children's worker role and will be subject to safety checking as part of the Children's Act 2014.
