Early Years Community Practitioner & MyTime FacilitatorJob No: Ngala918 Location: Calista About Child and Parent Centre Ngala's Child and Parent Centres (CPC) offer a welcoming environment for families with children up to eight years old. Located conveniently, our centres provide a variety of services including weekly playgroups, parenting workshops, health services, and community events. Our dedicated team focuses on supporting early childhood development and creating a fun, stimulating atmosphere for both children and parents.
We're seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Early Years Community Practitioner and MyTime Facilitator, working across our East Waikiki and Calista Centres.
This role involves: Working Monday to Friday in a job-sharing capacity, covering leave from February to March 2025 (hours to be discussed).Collaborating with the CPC teams and the local community.Facilitating a range of early childhood and family-focused initiatives.Delivering initiatives at and through the CPC, aligning with Ngala's strategic direction, business plan, service model, and contractual obligations.Becoming part of a close-knit team that supports each other, learns from each other, and loves coming to work.What You'll Do Responsibilities include, however are not limited to:
Develop and lead play-based environments to promote group interaction and learning opportunities for parents and their children (0-5 years), covering all domains of development.Facilitate MyTime support groups for families with children who have additional needs.Ensure completion of MyTime registration forms, data, and reports.Provide information and support to parents/caregivers with children (0-8 years) regarding normal child development, in line with Ngala's evidence-based practice.Model quality early childhood practices across Ngala services.Promote and contribute to a supportive team environment.What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:
A qualification in Children Services or equivalent work experience in the field.Effective interpersonal, relationship building skills, and excellent communication skills with both adults and children.Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development, early parenting and psychosocial impacts on families with young children.Understanding trends in early childhood practice.Intermediate IT levels of competency.Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.In addition, the successful candidate will need to provide the following:
Current WA driver's licence.Valid WA Working with Children's Check.Satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months.As part of our commitment to being a Child Safe organisation, successful candidates are required to provide their Immunisation History Statement.
