Early Childhood Assistant Educator or Trainee Assistant Educator The Rockhampton Grammar School is seeking a full-time Assistant Educator or Trainee Assistant Educator.
This full-time position commences as soon as possible or in negotiation with the successful candidate.
The successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts between 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Learning Centre/Nominated Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for individual children or groups. Record observations of individual children or groups for program planning purposes for qualified staff. Under direction, work with individual children with specific needs. Assist in the direction of untrained staff. Undertake and implement the requirements of quality assurance (National Quality Framework). Work in accordance with food safety regulations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification which is recognised under the Act and experience as an Early Childhood Educator. A current Working with Children Card (Blue Card). A current First Aid Certificate / CPR/Asthma/Anaphylaxis certification. An understanding of the National Quality Standard and the Framework for the Early Years – The Early Years Learning Framework. Working knowledge of promoting children's health and safety. Demonstrated proof of planning and implementing an Emergent Curriculum program, maintaining the Centre Philosophy, long and short term goals. Demonstrated proof of effectively using non-contact time, providing evidence of the planning cycle (observations, learning stories, evaluation, and reflection) being able to evaluate program routines and activities. Proven ability to work successfully in a team and to have supervised and assisted activities. To have worked in conjunction with the Lead Educator and Director and other Educators in developing an effective educational program based on the interests and needs of the children in your care. Demonstrated proof of flexibility and the ability to cooperate with staff, children, and parents. An advanced understanding of hygiene practices within a children's service. To have undertaken further training relevant to children's services. An ability to inform parents about the program and consult with parents about their child's individual needs. Willingness to participate in staff meetings, yearly planning days, family events and ongoing professional development opportunities. Be able to work a rotating shift between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday. N.B: This position description contains the most important duties and tasks regarding the job to be done.
