$95,515 - $100,780 p.a. as per Danila Dilba Enterprise Agreement 2022 – 2026Location: Darwin Clinic - 32-34 Knuckey Street Darwin NT 0800Status: Fixed Term until 30 June 2025Type: Part-time (0.4FTE)WHO ARE WE?Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Services (DDHS) is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that is committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) region in the Northern Territory.We are focused on acute care, immunisation, chronic disease management, women's health, men's health, child and maternal health and sexual health.The Dietitian provides services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). The role is underpinned by the CHSP wellness approach, working with clients to maximise functional independence and ability to participate and remain living in the community. The Dietitian works in a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, culturally safe services that meet the needs of Danila Dilba clients, with a focus on chronic diseases.WHAT YOU WILL DOKey Responsibilities:Provide contemporary and culturally appropriate dietetic services for CHSP eligible clients including assessment, treatment, planning, and evaluation under supervision from a senior dietitian (which will decrease as experience increases).Maintain quality client medical records.Work collaboratively with the Allied Health team to provide holistic allied health services that meet the needs of DDHS clients.Manage caseload and client bookings to ensure timely, coordinated service delivery.Contribute to public health nutrition activities including the development of local, culturally responsive education resources and provision of group dietetic services.Contribute to data collection taking responsibility for accurate content.Contribute to service improvement processes that ensure high levels of quality and safety and evidence-based practice.Contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and key performance indicators.Display a commitment to personal and professional development.SELECTION CRITERIAUnderstanding of and commitment to Aboriginal community control and self-determination.Recognised tertiary qualification in nutrition or dietetics that enables eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), participating in the Accredited Practicing Dietitian Program.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop quality dietetic services to older clients in a community setting.Clear understanding of scope of practice.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care context, principles of chronic disease prevention and management and goal-directed care planning.Understanding of the issues and barriers that affect the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client focus and the ability to establish collaborative partnerships with other health professionals and agencies.High level written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated competence in e-health record systems and office software applications.
