EAL/D Teacher: K to 6 Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney's North Shore. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished full-time EAL/D teacher to work within the EAL/D team and the Junior School in a temporary position, commencing Term 1, 2025. This role is replacing a staff member who will be on leave and will conclude at the end of Term 3.
This role will provide EAL/D expertise for teachers K - 6 who teach multilingual students. The EAL/D team assesses students and provides in-class and withdrawal support, collaborating with classroom teachers in the development of inclusive social and academic programs for students for whom English is an additional language.
To be successful in securing this position you will have demonstrated teaching ability in EAL/D encompassing:
experience in teaching in K - 6 significant experience in teaching EAL/D students experience in the development and application of programs, tools and resources that scaffold the NSW Curriculum for EAL/D students TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) studies or language-related postgraduate qualification a flexible and collegial approach Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is desirable but not essential.
