The Fuels & Energy East business is seeking interest from experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Designers to join one of our national contracts supporting Fuel Terminals across Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical engineering design activities across the contract. The role will work with a team of engineers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient technical expertise to the business.
About the role Have a sound knowledge of and site experience with field Electrical and equipment installations, including Hazardous Area installations, PLC & SCADA systems.Proficient in AutoCAD, CADWorx, Electrical database applications, and Microsoft Office.Develop conceptual layouts to determine the most efficient approach in solving engineering tasks at hand.Experienced in design requirements defined in the Australian & International codes and standards, good design practices. Provide Electrical/Instrument design and maintenance drafting services, working closely with Engineering, Asset, and Project Management staff to ensure timely, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose drafting output.Ensure the safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, standards, reviews, risk assessments, and risk management.Ensure that sufficient sketches and details are provided to the draughting personnel for completion of engineering drawings.Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with the Client, Key Stakeholders, and the UGL Team.About you To be considered for the role the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
Tertiary Electrical qualification or similar.5 years + of detailed engineering design experience with engineering contracting or consultancy organizations in the resource sector, oil & gas and/or petrochemical industries.Experience mentoring individuals and leading Project Design capabilities.Ideally some exposure to Brownfield Capital Projects and Asset Maintenance Projects with terminals or other petrochemical environments.Detailed knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards, good engineering practice, and the applicable statutory requirements with respect to fuel tanks & piping works.Familiar with Spacegass, STAADPro, Robot, and structural component design software.
