Competitive salary package About the Role: We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team and support the growing demand for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) services. This role will play a critical part in estimating projects, preparing competitive bids, and working closely with the Estimating Manager, General Manager - Technical Solutions, and operational teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Responsibilities: Estimate Compilation & Review: Compile and review estimates and quotes under the guidance of the Estimating Manager. Cost Estimate and Risk Analysis: Understand project/client specifications and E&I drawings; consider pricing factors; conduct cost analysis; identify and discuss risks and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies with project managers and engineers. Tender Submission Preparation: Prepare tender submission documents, ensuring work method statements and construction schedules align with proposals and client criteria. Proposal Strategy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of proposal strategies, ensuring they are included in submitted bids. Client & Team Collaboration: Liaise closely with operational teams and clients to ensure projects are properly scoped and prepared, integrating feedback into the estimating process. Estimate Handover: Collaborate in the estimate handover process with the Project Manager, including plans, specifications, and schedules, after project award. Business Development: Strong interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions. Bid Preparation: Prepare professional, comprehensive, and competitive bids; collaborate with internal and external parties; maintain detailed records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence; timely and compliant bid submissions; and present cost estimates, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders. Successful applicants will have: Minimum 5 years' experience in an estimating role for electrical scope; ideally within engineering/project management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with co-workers, management, and external clients. Proven track record and success in winning tenders. A thorough knowledge of project costing, scheduling, and delivering to the client's satisfaction. Experience with Water, Solar, Switchrooms, and MCC installations is advantageous but not essential.
