These roles will be working on a residential shift (sportsman) roster.About the RoleReporting directly to the Operations Superintendent, the Duty Operations Supervisor is responsible for the co-ordination of a broad range of shift activities and the provision of expert technical and specialised services associated with shift functions and activities including vessel mooring, rail coordination, bulk mineral haulage/loading/unloading, cargo, wharf and other port operations.The Duty Operations Supervisor role will provide a single operational point of contact for on-the-ground decision making and representation for and on behalf of Mid West Ports Authority to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operations.About YouKey Qualifications and experience (To be addressed in Covering Letter):Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience leading and supervising operational teams within a port, mining, mineral processing, rail, marine or other similar operational environment.Demonstrated expertise in relevant functions and work practices, including a strong understanding of applicable legislation, with over 5 years' experience managing people, resources, and workgroups in a similar operational environment to achieve effective results while leading and mentoring a high-performing team and fostering a positive, collaborative work culture.Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse problems, identify solutions, take appropriate action, and maintain close relationships with customers, contractors, and employees, all while fostering a collaborative working environment.Demonstrated ability to lead employee relations and rosters in alignment with enterprise agreements and port requirements, ensuring efficient leave management and team productivity.Demonstrated leadership in fostering a strong safety culture within the workplace, committing to health and safety, and effectively monitoring compliance with OH&S policies by leading by example and promoting safety awareness and housekeeping standards.Excellent analytical and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and achieve positive results.Demonstrated strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and control systems, with the ability to review and update IMS documentation.A clear understanding of financial principles, including budgeting and forecasting.About UsAt Mid West Ports Authority, our story is about people.
