Underwriting (Insurance & Superannuation)An exciting opportunity for a Third-Party Governance Manager/Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) Governance Manager to join our Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) Governance team. This role reports into the GM Underwriting Governance & Performance to provide leadership, direction, coordination, and oversight of activities required to establish and implement a robust DUA governance framework.Lead the DUA Specialists with a focus on effectively embedding DUA governance disciplines and appropriate capabilities across the team and more broadly across AUSPAC business areas.Develop and manage execution of the team's annual workplan, and provide input to the broader team's strategic priorities.Actively coach and mentor the team to develop skills and capabilities and ensure optimum performance, employee engagement and retention.Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of DUA governance processes and systems across AUSPAC and drive the DUA Audit Management Process and ensure that audit schedules are met providing appropriate reporting and monitoring of audit progress and actions.Develop, enhance and maintain appropriate DUA governance and risk reporting to support the progress reporting of DUA governance activities and effectively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the DUA Governance and Operational Standard (DUAGOS) is followed across all DUA activities where appropriate.Ensure alignment of DUAGOS with Group Underwriting Standards and other relevant Group standards or policies.Execute governance activities to ensure adherence to the DUA governance processes and report accordingly (e.g. through the DUA Committee).Effectively represent the Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) Governance team across the CUO function and broader AUSPAC business units.Proactively identify and implement/manage/record (within Insight) DUA governance enhancements or control weaknesses or issues.This role will also work closely with National Portfolio Managers (NPMs), Distribution, Risk & Compliance and Legal teams to ensure that DUA requirements are carried out in accordance with QBE and regulatory requirements and QBE policies and standards.About youDemonstrated leadership experience with detailed knowledge of underwriting and DUA governance processes and principles.Sound knowledge of risk, compliance and audit management matters as it relates to DUA governance.Sound knowledge of general insurance industry.Ability to influence senior leaders and to build and maintain positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders.Ability to work under pressure and manage and deliver on conflicting priorities.Experience in producing high-quality detailed reports with excellent attention to detail.Experience with implementing processes, systems or tools that require engagement and collaboration across multiple functions.Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written/verbal communicator, with strong facilitation and negotiation skills.About QBEWe can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
