The Hub Financial Administrator supports the Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, a University of Melbourne-led consortium addressing drought resilience in regional Victoria. Reporting to the Hub Director, this role manages financial transactions, coordinates with partners, and ensures compliance with grant agreements and university policies. It requires excellent financial management, reporting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist in the financial management of the Hub in partnership with the Hub Director and University shared services. Setting and monitoring plans and budgets and providing regular reports to the Hub Director, Hub Partners, and the Commonwealth as required.Prepare working papers relative to financial matters, recommendations and procedures related to the financial and operational management of the Hub.Maintain a sound knowledge of current University policy and procedures, and reliably follow these or provide compliant advice to others.Oversee Hub grants and contracts and contribute to financial and non-financial reporting.Who We Are Looking For
You will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to foster effective relationships between institutions involved in the Hub. Additionally, you will work autonomously with sound judgement and possess strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
You will also have:
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, and /or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated experience in effective financial management and reporting, and timely delivery with a key emphasis on administration and reporting in complex projects.Demonstrated leadership and effective financial resource management including experience in relation to operational management of similar projects.High level financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.

Dookie campus is an agricultural facility set on the tranquil rolling hills between Shepparton and Benalla in Victoria. Relocation support can be negotiated for successful candidates.
Please note: This position requires the appointee to work in regional Victoria, where there is no public transport connection available. A valid driving license for Victoria is required for this role.
