About the Role: The Driver Trainer is responsible for the training, familiarisation of equipment/ devices and the induction of all new drivers.
This role will oversee compliance paperwork for drivers on the site and assist compliance staff in day-to-day operations.
Your main responsibilities will include: Ability to mentor and train drivers on the safe operation of vehicles and attain any additional licences and/or certificates that may be required Educating drivers on the basic maintenance of all vehicles Conducting refresher courses when required to all driving staff Conducting training sessions or training updates with drivers as required Conducting assessments and provide the development of all driving staff Providing advice and interpretation of road rules Ensuring all training is carried out in a timely manner Ensuring all new drivers have completed relevant paperwork and provided any licences, training records or certificates relevant to the position Reviewing driver training packages and onboarding materials Maintaining / reviewing and update selection methods used to identify the right candidates Assisting with interviews of potential drivers The ideal candidates will have: Extensive experience in the operation of heavy vehicles including multi combinations Be familiar with the concepts of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) Understand weight distribution, load restraint, dangerous goods, completing work diaries and vehicle maintenance Forklift licence competency ticket (highly desirable but not essential) MC Licence Cert 4 in Training and Assessment Cert 4 in Workplace health and safety (highly desirable but not essential) Willing to travel interstate as needed-This could be Adelaide, Brisbane or Melbourne and if living in one of these states would include Sydney.
