Your Position:
Burwood Council is seeking a multi skilled Driver/Labourer to join our Civil team to carry out asphalt, concreting, drainage and other capital and maintenance related works.
You will be required to work as part of a team that delivers cost-effective quality service to the residents and business owners of Burwood.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out all tasks associated with the maintenance and construction of Council's infrastructure, including footpaths, driveways, curb & gutter, storm water pits, pram ramps and roads
Reporting defects in any Council assets, including those not within your immediate area of responsibility
Work as a member of a team undertaking duties such as labouring, pipe laying, concreting, hot mix laying and drain cleaning
Use hand tools, chainsaws, air operated tools
Conduct duties such as working to levels, string lines and measuring accurately, graffiti removal and rubbish removal
To be successful in this role you will have:
Class MR Licence (or willingness to obtain)
WHS Construction Induction certificate (White Card)
Experience in all tasks associated with construction of footpath, drainage pits & pipes, driveways, reinforced road slabs, street and park furniture
Experience in all tasks associated with laying of asphalt road and footpath pavements
Traffic Controllers Certificate and Implement Traffic Control Plans (or willingness to obtain these qualifications)
