Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Drill and Blast Engineer to join our operation in Savage River.Responsibilities:Coordinate drilling, shot firing, and related operational activities, primarily in the 0–2-week space to ensure that maximum safe production is accomplished.Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders throughout the M2C operation including ENAEX Supervisors, Drilling Leading Hands, Shift Supervisors, Appointed Shotfirers, D&B and Short-Term Planning Staff, Assistant Mining Superintendents, and M2C Management as required.Provide supervision and administrative support to the Blast Crew.Undertake the duties required for the position in a diligent and competent manner.Ensure that all activities are carried out in conformance with Grange policy, especially in the cultural, safety and environmental policies and all project consent and legislative requirements.Day to Day:In this role you will be responsible for:Conduct physical inspections of drill and blast sites to ensure that areas are prepared and ready for drilling and blast activities to continue forward uninterrupted.Work with site planners, supervisors, and the Assistant Mining Superintendent to ensure consistent and efficient production in the drill and blast space.Provide timely and accurate input into drill and blast planning and scheduling to ensure that mine production is aligned and integrated with other planning processes.Forecast usage volumes for bulk explosives, blasting accessories and other consumables to enable accurate and timely ordering from suppliers.Formulate reports to monitor mine production, compile KPI's and compare actual production to plan (fortnightly, monthly).Who You Are:To be successful in this role you have:Mining Engineering degree (or suitable operational experience).Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in open cut mining operations in both production and planning roles and ideally with prior drill and blast experience.Working knowledge of mine planning software packages preferably including Surpac, ShotPlus or BlastPlan electronic initiation software.Working knowledge of Microsoft office software including Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint.Working knowledge of Microsoft AX would be beneficial.Demonstrated success in working within a dynamic team environment to deliver results.Who We Are:We're Grange Resources, Australia's oldest and most experienced magnetite producer - combining both mining and pellet production expertise.
