As the Drainage Team Leader you will support the development of a team of competent Drainage Operators that provide drainage services to customers within the Southwest region. You will be responsible for prioritising health and safety within the depot whilst organising and prioritising unplanned and planned activities based on operational needs.

What You'll do Leading the team safety initiatives including team meetings, JSA preparation, workplace inspection and hazard identification, incident management and addressing safety improvements within the team Ensuring that all work is undertaken with safety as the priority including conducting regular safety talks and personal inspection of PPE, fitness for work status and general well-being Pro-actively managing employee and contractor performance, level of professional competence and behaviour Managing day to day resource management/workload management Building employee capability through mentoring, coaching, training opportunities, supervision and knowledge transfer Ensuring operation and maintenance of assets with the development and implementation of plans Building an effective team, team communication and commitment to continuous improvement Undertaking site visits/inspections and be visible in the district with the team Undertaking daily stakeholder engagement and liaising with different government department Monitoring and reporting on the financial and business performance of the team Your skills and experience Completion of Certificate III in Water Operations or Trades qualification equivalent Leadership and operational line management experience of a multi-disciplinary team Understanding of Contractor management and procedures Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety Experience in Rural Drainage systems – desirable
