Drafting & Estimating Officer

Our client takes great pride in offering an Australian-made product, and you could be a key player in their success by being a part of the Drafting & Estimating Team.This combined role will see you working closely with Senior Management to design, draft, estimate and see projects through the manufacturing process to completion and delivery.About the role:Manage and lead a team of draftspeople and estimatorsProduce AutoCAD drawings and 3D drawings with SolidworksLiaise with customers regarding design improvements and changes as identified and necessaryLiaise with production team members for prioritisation and schedulingUnderstand the scope of work and determine key variables for cost estimatesAnalyse plans and project documentation to estimate costsResearch, source, negotiate, and obtain the best prices from suppliersAssess financial, technical, and operational risks of the projectSkills and Experience:Ideally, have a trade background and looking to come off the toolsHave an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing processExperienced in designing, estimating and drafting within a metal fabrication setting i.e. stainless steel, mild steel, aluminiumProficient in AutoCAD 2D and/or SolidworksStrong communication skills, both written and verbalMeticulous organisational skills, ability to prioritize works in view of timelinesHigh attention to detailIf you feel that this is the next opportunity for you, please apply now by submitting an up to date resume.
