The job + The responsibility Plan, coordinate and drive the coverage of stories from all over the world, with a focus on Germany and Europe Edit news copy in English according to dpa standards and style under rolling deadline pressure, ensuring accuracy and speed Translate stories from German into English, adapting them for an international audience Work closely with reporters in the field Source content from partner agencies to complement coverage Cooperate closely with dpa's German service Ensure seamless 24/7 coverage in coordination with our Berlin editing desk You + Your strengths The ability to recognize and develop newsworthy stories of global interest and write / translate accurately under pressure Advanced knowledge of German (C1 equivalent) and ability to translate from German into English Advanced-level professional competency in the English language Using your advanced knowledge of German and excellent research skills as well as AI tools to meet the demands of our varied client base, in line with the principle that human editors take responsibility for all output At least two years of full-time editing experience in the news media Flexibility and willingness to work in the evenings and on weekends University degree in journalism or related field We + our culture The position offers a great opportunity for an internationally minded journalist who wants to produce up-to-the-minute news stories for a global audience within a modern newsroom environment.
